Who we are
Spendvex is a receipt scanner and expense tracker made by Crimvex (crimvex.com). In this policy, "we" means Crimvex and "you" means the person using the app.

What we collect
Nothing. Spendvex has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting service, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. We do not sell, rent or share any data, because we never receive any.
The app does not connect to the internet. It contains no servers, cloud sync or third-party SDKs that send data anywhere. The privacy policy link opens this page in your web browser.
Your expenses
The expenses you add (shop, date, amount, VAT or tax, category, payment method and notes) are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. You can edit or delete any expense at any time. Deleting Spendvex deletes all of it.
Camera and receipt photos
Spendvex uses your phone's own document scanner to photograph receipts. On iPhone this asks for camera access; on Android, Google's scanner runs the camera for us, so Spendvex itself does not need camera permission.
When you choose a photo instead, you pick it in your phone's own picker and Spendvex sees only that photo.
Receipt photos are saved in the app's private storage, next to the expense they belong to. You can turn off Keep receipt photos in Settings to save only the numbers. Deleting an expense deletes its photos.
Reading receipts on your phone
Spendvex reads the shop, date, total and VAT from a receipt using text recognition that runs entirely on your device. On iPhone it uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. On Android it uses Google ML Kit with the text model built into the app. Your receipts are never uploaded to be read.
Exports and backups you make
When you export a spreadsheet, a zip of receipts, or a full backup, Spendvex creates the file on your phone and opens the share sheet. You choose where it goes (Files, Google Drive, email, your accountant and so on). What happens after that is governed by the app or service you choose.
When you restore a backup, you pick the file yourself and Spendvex reads it on your phone.
Device backups
If you have turned on device backups (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android), your phone may include Spendvex's data in those backups, according to your own device settings. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us.
Children
Spendvex is not directed at children under 13. We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights (POPIA and GDPR)
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your personal information.
Because Spendvex collects nothing, we hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing on our side to access, export or delete. Everything is on your device and under your control, and you can export it at any time.

Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it at https://policy.crimvex.com/spendvex/privacy/ and change the "Last updated" date. If a future version of Spendvex ever needed to collect any data, we would say so clearly in the app before it happened.
