Qrvex Privacy Policy

Last updated · Version 1.0

Qrvex collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. The codes you scan and create stay on your phone.

Who we are

Qrvex is a QR code scanner and generator made by Crimvex (crimvex.com). In this policy, "we" means Crimvex and "you" means the person using the app.

Questions about privacy: crimvex001@gmail.com.

What we collect

Nothing. Qrvex has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting service, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. We do not sell, rent or share any data, because we never receive any.

The app does not connect to the internet. It contains no servers, cloud sync or third-party SDKs that send data anywhere. Links in a scanned code open in your web browser only when you tap Open, and the privacy policy link opens this page in your browser.

Camera

Qrvex asks for camera access only to read QR codes. The camera image is processed on your phone, frame by frame, and is never saved or uploaded.

Photos

When you scan a code from a photo, you pick the photo in your phone's own picker and Qrvex reads only that photo. It is decoded on your phone and not kept.

When you save a code you created, Qrvex adds the image to your photo library. On iPhone it asks for permission to add photos; it cannot see your other photos.

Your history

The codes you scan and create are saved in a history list stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. You can delete single items, clear the whole list, or turn history off in Settings. Deleting Qrvex deletes all of it.

Contacts, sharing and other apps

Qrvex never reads your contacts. When you choose Add to contacts, it opens your phone's own contact screen with the details filled in, and you decide whether to save.

When you open, share or copy something, Qrvex hands it to the app or service you choose (your browser, mail, messages, WhatsApp, maps or the share sheet). What happens after that is governed by that app or service.

On-device processing

QR codes are read on your device. On iPhone, Qrvex uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. On Android, it uses Google ML Kit with the barcode model built into the app. Neither sends your images anywhere.

Backups

If you have turned on device backups (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android), your phone may include Qrvex's history in those backups, according to your own device settings. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us.

Children

Qrvex is not directed at children under 13. We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights (POPIA and GDPR)

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your personal information.

Because Qrvex collects nothing, we hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing on our side to access, export or delete. Everything is on your device and under your control.

If you have a question or concern, email crimvex001@gmail.com and we will reply. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it at https://policy.crimvex.com/qrvex/privacy/ and change the "Last updated" date. If a future version of Qrvex ever needed to collect any data, we would say so clearly in the app before it happened.
